This monogram The Spirit of Non-Violence' was created and published by Shri Chaturdas Nagindas Shah and Shri Arvind Narendra Patil Advocate of Belgaum in 1970. Jagad-Guru Swasti Shri Karmayogi Charukeerti Bhattarak Swamiji of Shri Jaina Matt Shravanabelagola very kindly gave a copy of this monogram to me at Nallur for re arranging its matter in order to present the same to the Jain and Non-Jain lay readers of 21st Century. The matter of the booklet was very short. It was felt that the definition of 'Himsa' and 'Ahimsa' i.e., Violence and Non-Violence should be presented in some details, To fulfill this necessity I have added one paper of mine titled as 'Non-Violence: A Code of Conduct. Actually this Article is a brief note presented by me in the Jaina Convention at Torento (Canada) 4-6 July 1997. I hope this will help to understand the basic ingredients of Non Violence.
