Yogic science and Academics etc. The World's First University was established in Takshila in 700 BC. The value of "PI" was calculated by the Indian Mathematician Aryabhatta who explained the concept of the Pythagorean Theorem.

The Martial Arts was born in India which later spread to other countries. The system of Traditional Medicine originated from our sub-continent. Sushruta the "Father of Surgery" who conducted complicated surgeries over 2600 years ago is from Varanasi He practiced Ayurvedic Surgery at Varanasi. He talks about the following types of Ayurvedic medicines. Kayachikitaa (Internal Medicine), Balachikitaa (Peadiatrics), Graha Chikitsha (Psychiatry), Satakya Chikitaa (ENT & Cephalic Diseases), Shalya Chikitsa (Surgery Removal of the broken parts of the weapons from the body caused during war), Visha Chikitsa (Toxicology). Rasayana (Rejuvenation therapy), Vajeekarana (Aphrodisiac Treatment). These ideas of Ayurveda was later used by countries like Greece, Persia and Arabia.

It is said, "Through the links of the past forms the lifeline of our future". To glorify our country, to revive the ancient knowledge is time we look to our past. Younger generations today find or e only the negative part of India and look for cultures outside India and are ready to accept and adopt them. It is our bounden duty to inculcate this spirit in them that India has one of the best culture in the world and that we should proudly follow it.

In the Surya Siddhanta, edited by E. Burgess and G. Hellenistic culture drew more inspiration from Indian influence than Indian culture from Hellenistic influences. India always gave others more than she took from them. Possibly the seeds of Indian Arithmetic and Algebra which flowered later in the Alexandrian School were laid there by the early Dravidian traders who carried the natural products of South India to Babylon, Egypt and Greece.
