The journey so far has been enormously exciting and spiritually uplifting. Meeting, discovering and interacting with so many different artists, cultural experts from around the country and beyond has been a joy and a leaming experience in equal measure. We are indebted to all of them and to our friends and our colleagues who have encouraged and stood by us in producing this enormous project in such a short time.
Given the vastness of the subject open to diverse interpretations, the selection itself of the artists, and their works, was a complex exercise and a humbling experience The decision to align the selection with the theme and include antiquities as well as contemporary creations and presentations was a useful principle to follow along with plurality of doctrines styles and regional variations in Yogic practices and beliefs. We have tried to explore varied forms styles mediums, sizes and genres as prevalent and being currently practiced around the subcontinent from across faiths and cultures all perceived through the same prism. irrespective of the social hierarchy, gender or status of its creator The attempt has been to celebrate and document the essence of Yoga We are obliged to all the artists in different parts of india, who have readily lent.us their works d some new ones specially for the Yoga Chakra collection We are grateful to various colleagues at Ministry of Culture. Sangeet Natak Akademi and sister team members for their commitment and hard work in helping us turn this idea into a reality.
