Our Institute recently started a new spirituo-cultural series named as Sri Ananda Acharya Universal Series with a view to issuing the spiritually attuned writings of Swami Sri Ananda Acharya, an Indian sage who had chosen to live and work during the latter half of his life in far off Norway. The present book, Yoga of Conquest, is being issued as the vol. II in that Series and is thus preceded by the Swami Ji's another work entitled Karlima Rani or Lectures on Yoga, which has already been published as the Vol. I. The happy circumstances which have led the Institute to interest itself in publishing the works of the Swami Ji have been indicated in the Foreword to Vol. I.
The Yoga of Conquest has been given the form of a self-spiritualising perennial diary in which 366 deeply suggestive and highly elevating thoughts have been arranged datewise, to serve for the whole year. In the diary, various aspects of each of these thoughts have been taken into proper consideration towards their full discussion and clear exposition.
In the publication of this book, our sincere thanks are due to a local friend of our Institute, Shri D. D. Kapila, I. A. S. (Retd.), who has been pleased to express his deep interest in the study and propagation of the ideals of Indian culture by contributing one half of its cost of printing. It also deserves being mentioned that Shri K. V. Sarma of our Institute has been mainly responsible for seeing this work through the press and supplying it with an analytical Table of Contents, a very useful Subject Index and a Biographical Sketch of Swami Ananda Acharya.
