The consort of Shiva assumes a different character here. As Durga, she was a most powerful warrior and appeared on earth under many names, for the destruction of demons who were cruel to gods and men.

Here, the great goddess is incarnate as Shakti, standing against the lion, her mount. The heroism of the warrior goddess is once more evident as she stands triumphant after having destroyed another army of the demons. In this form of hers, she is represented as a fair, beautiful, gentle-looking lady.

She is dressed in a red saree and a green choli. She wears a stone-encrusted crown with a white halo behind her head. The eight-armed goddess holds a sword and a mace, which rest on the ground, close to her feet. She also holds the trident of Shiva, conch and disc of Vishnu, bow and an arrow, and goddess Lakshmi's attribute, the lotus in one hand. With one hand she makes the 'abhaya mudra', that of fearlessness. Her mount, the lion looks magnificent with its size, dignity and a majestic mane. Despite being a carnivorous beast, it looks gentle standing behind the goddess. The artist has cleverly drawn away the ferocity from the animal. Instead he draws our attention to the manifold aspect of the deity: her beauty as she stands against her powerful vahana, armed to the teeth, holding weapons of great destruction in her eight arms, her benign look and awesome energy.

This is to inform you that the shipment of my order has arrived in perfect condition. The actual shipment took only less than two weeks, which is quite good seen the circumstances. I waited with my response until now since the Buddha statue was a present that I handed over just recently. The Medicine Buddha was meant for a lady who is active in the healing business and the statue was just the right thing for her. I downloaded the respective mantras and chants so that she can work with the benefits of the spiritual meanings of the statue and the mantras. She is really delighted and immediately fell in love with the beautiful statue. I am most grateful to you for having provided this wonderful work of art. We both have a strong relationship with Buddhism and know to appreciate the valuable spiritual power of this way of thinking. So thank you very much again and I am sure that I will come back again.
