There's
absolutely nothing wrong if the statue of
Maa Kali is kept in the home. It is the zone of power and confidence and
since she gives strength, power and removes fear, it is ideal. Maa Kaali's
idol should be placed facing south.
Some Vastu experts tip that one should keep the idol or picture of this goddess at home only if he can perform kali puja fully as per prescribed vidhi-vidhan. Because Maa Kali is the destructive form of Durga Mata who is always in the form of anger. Maa Kali is worshiped more in Tantra Sadhana. That's why such a picture should not be kept in the house of worship.
Goddess
Kali is offered a purple saree in most regions. In some regions a mix of purple
and red. The sarees are offered to Goddess Bhagavathi in South India on any
Tuesday or Friday or any of the auspicious days associated with the Goddess.
She is usually offered a red or green color saree. However, Maa Kali's favorite
flower is red hibiscus, which is why she is draped in a stunning red hibiscus
garland on the day of Puja.
While
an idol or statue
of Maa Durga is best suited for the South-Eastern zone, Maa
Kaali's idol should be placed facing south. According to Vastu experts, god
should be placed in either east or northeast direction in the house. The idols
or deities must be kept at a certain height from the ground. The setting should
be such that the face of God must be towards the west and the face of the
worshiper should be towards the east.
