Gita Press has achieved the title of the world’s largest publisher of Vedic texts based in the Gorakhpur city of Uttar Pradesh, India. The founders of Gita Press (Jaya Dayal Goyanka and Ghanshyam Das Jalan) were active in preaching the glories of the Vedas, Puranas, and Upanishads.
They translated the Sanskrit texts of scriptures into various languages such as Hindi, Bengali, English, Kannada, Tamil, Marathi, etc. These translations present the exact meaning of the Sanskrit verses and are therefore considered authentic. The books of Gita Press also offer the word-to-word meanings of each verse.
Gita Press was established in 1923 by Brahmalina Shri Jaya Dayal Goyandka. It is known for publishing authentic religious texts translated into various languages such as Hindi, English, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, and other Indian languages. The main purpose of Gita Press is to promote the glories and principles of Sanatan Dharma by spreading the knowledge of the Vedic scriptures.
Since its establishment, it has published
around 400 million copies of the Bhagavad Gita and 70 million copies of Ramcharitmanas.

Mahabharata is also known as the fifth Veda in the Vedic scriptures and contains the essence of all the revealed scriptures. The six-volume Mahabharata published by Gita Press is one of their most-sold books after Bhagavad Gita and Ramcharitmanas.
In this edition of the Mahabharata, all the Sanskrit verses
have been translated into Hindi. These translations have not been adulterated
or misinterpreted in any way, however, the equivalent meaning is provided.
Thus, there is no doubt about the authenticity of this glorious book.
